St. Vincent de Paul Delivers 34 Easter Baskets

The Saint Vincent DePaul society again wants to thank you for your generous prayers and donations to help our neighbors. Like everyone else, we have missed receiving the Eucharist and attending Mass. We are also heartbroken this last week by the loss of parishioner Bill Schmidt who was a Past President and one of the Founding Members of your Holy Family Saint Vincent DePaul Society. We have lost 5 of our founding members in recent years and can never thank them and their families enough for their vision and dedication to the Body of Christ.

Making protecting our volunteers a priority, we donned gloves and masks (made and donated by an anonymous parishioner) and used great social distancing practices to load boxes of food and hams this last Saturday for 34 families in Floyd County that were in desperate need of food; not for an Easter feast but for survival. Neighbor after neighbor thanked the delivery coordinator Ruth Kaiser and the delivery drivers for this timely donation. A special thanks again to Holy Family school alumni Sophia Abell and her family for 50 beautiful easter baskets and an anonymous donor for large chocolate bunnies to help the youth celebrate Christianity's most precious feast. Again thank you for your prayers and donations and for our delivery volunteers.

Just a reminder, our Saint Vincent DePaul food donation box has been moved to the In Heaven's Eyes donation drop off room. For the rest of April, we would appreciate any donations of pasta products (spaghetti, noodles, mac n cheese, spaghetti sauce, etc) or any discounted box or canned goods that you find on sale.
