Liturgical Ministries at Holy Family:

Sacristans can be individuals or families that help Father by setting up before the weekend and Holy Day Masses. Our sacristans take care of setting out the hosts and wine as well as organize everything that Father needs during Mass such as cups, purificators, crosses for Eucharistic ministers, etc. on the credence table. There is a clear set of instructions along with pictures so you know exactly what is needed. You will be trained by a current sacristan.

Lectors – Lay persons can help with the proclamation of the scriptures at daily and Sunday Mass.  A strong voice and the ability to convey the meaning of the scriptures is necessary.

Minister of Hospitality – (Ushers/Greeters) Ushers help with the orderly flow of Communion and taking up the Sunday offerings.  They may also assist in handing out materials. They are trained by Fred Ernstberger. Greeters are women and men of our parish greet the faithful with a smile and kind welcome as they arrive.

Extraordinary Ministers of the Eucharist – Eucharistic ministers are commissioned to help with the distribution of the Body and Blood of Christ at Mass.  They are not scheduled but rather serve as needed on a volunteer basis. Extraordinary Ministers must be confirmed.

Youth servers are chosen from boys and girls from 5th – 8th grade; they assist at the altar during Mass and for other liturgical devotions. High school youth are also invited to serve.

Adult servers assist at the altar for Sunday Eucharist, weekday Masses, and funerals.

Music Ministry – Pastoral musicians are trained to lead the congregation in sung praise, proclaim the scriptures in song, and provide accompaniment.  Musicians are trained and scheduled by our Director of Music Ministry, Paul Stiller.
