Since the start of 2021, volunteers for the Saturday Lunch ministry prepared and distributed over 1000 brown bag lunches to the needy at the New Albany Housing Authority parking lot off Bono Road in New Albany. The Wednesday Bridge ministry prepared and served meals to over 80 men and 30 women in cooperation with Jesus Cares at Exit 0. Meals that were not distributed were taken to the Catalyst Rescue Mission (formally Haven House) in Jeffersonville.
In celebration of Catholic Schools Week, students at St. Mary of the Knobs organized a food drive and donated pre-packaged cookies, raisins, applesauce and other food items to IHE. Their efforts were greatly appreciated.
A special thank you to Youth Minister Abbi Hamm and the many high school students who participated in the “All Are Worthy” retreat the weekend of March 16th. The students took time out of their schedule to visit In Heaven’s Eyes where they helped clean the house, wash the van, rake the yard, and sort and re-organize various items that will be distributed to the needy.
