Ruth C. (Mueller) Lyon, 102, passed away Thursday, April 7, 2022 at The Villas of Guerin Woods in Georgetown, IN. The daughter of the late Rudolph C. and Mollie (Blumerick) Mueller, Ruth was born March 28, 1920 in Louisville, KY. Ruth was a graduate of Ursuline Academy in Louisville. She loved gardening and volunteered for many years at Floyd Memorial Hospital. She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in New Albany. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Guy Lyon; children, Nancy Grantz and Scott Lyon; sons-in-law, John Tucker and Lee Lucien; and 5 siblings.
Ruth is survived by daughters, Janet Benvie (Bill) and Linda Tucker; son-in-law, Joe Grantz; 6 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be 2 pm ~ 8 pm Tuesday at Kraft Funeral Service, 708 E. Spring Street, New Albany, Indiana. Her Funeral Mass will be 11 am Wednesday at Holy Family Catholic Church, 129 W. Daisy Lane, New Albany. Cremation was chosen and she will be laid to rest next to her husband at New Albany National Cemetery at a later date.
