Holy Family Parishioner Germaine R. “Gerry” Day Passes Away

Germaine R. "Gerry" Day, 96, of New Albany, IN passed away Sunday, April 3, 2022 surrounded by her loving family. She was born on November 26, 1925 in New Albany, IN to the late Harvey and Louise Miller.


Gerry grew up in Lanesville, IN and attended St. Mary's Catholic Grade School and Lanesville High School then went on to attend Bryant & Stratton Business College. She worked as a legal secretary, was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church, Valley View Golf Course, and was a member of the Ladies Falls City Golf Association. Gerry loved to play golf, Euchre and vacation in Florida.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 39 years, Lawrence Day; brothers, Charles Miller, Joe Miller, Larry Miller, her twin Jerome Miller, Kenny Miller and Ed Miller; and a sister, Lula Mae Naville.


Gerry is survived by her children, Janice (Rob) Rahiya and Gregory (Dava) Day; three grandchildren, Melissa (Dan) Ariza, Adam (Hillary) Day and Sarah (Eric) Wright; and great-grandchildren, Matthew, Megan and Conner Ariza, Brady and Cooper Day, Madison and Mackenzie Kahl and Colton and Grayson Wright.


Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday, April 10, 2022 at Kraft Funeral Service, 708 East Spring Street, New Albany.
Mass of Christian burial will be at 11 a.m. on Monday, April 11, 2022 at Holy Family Catholic Church, 129 West Daisy Lane, New Albany, with burial to follow in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery.
