  1.     Tell us a little bit about yourself and your family.

I grew up in the Louisville, KY/Southern, IN area and studied Theology and Catechetics at Franciscan University of Steubenville.  Since graduating in 2011, I have worked in parish ministry in the local area serving all ages in a variety of ministries.  In 2017, my husband, David and I married, and in 2018 welcomed their first child, Michael.   In 2021 I completed my Master in Pastoral Theology from St. Meinrad.

Editor’s note: Since her original response was submitted in the last few weeks, Kristina and David have welcomed a beautiful little girl named Zoey! Congratulations, Kristina and David!

2. Who are your most important role models in faith?

The older I get, the more I appreciate the great witness of faith my grandparents were to me growing up.  My maternal grandmother showed me the importance of going to Mass each weekend and daily prayer even when we don't feel like it.  My grandfather always reminded me of the presence of God in His Creation and connecting with Him there.  My father's parents were a great witness of Christian marriage, willing the good of the other, which I strive for in my own marriage.  They also taught me to say the Guardian Angel prayer each night before bed, reminding me that God is always with us.  As a family we pray this together each night.  In addition to them, there are many saints I look up to - the Blessed Mother, St. Joseph, St. Maria Goretti, Bl. Pier Giorgio Frassati, and others - it's hard to pick just one!

3.     What do you like to do in your spare time?

My favorite hobby is cooking - it's also my stress reliever until I see all the dishes I make.  And spending time with my family of course - I like doing arts and crafts with Michael.  As a family we enjoy spending time outside and camping.

4.     If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go?

We have a few places on our family bucket list - Australia (hopefully New Zealand too) and to travel across the US and Canada by train.

5.     Do you have a favorite Scripture, Quote, or Saint? If so, what?

My favorite Scripture is 1 Peter 3:15 "Sanctify Christ as Lord in your hearts. Always be ready to give an explanation to anyone who asks you for a reason for your hope."  This verse reminds me that at the end of the day, Jesus is the most important thing in my life and to keep him there.  My other favorite quote comes from "Les Miserables," and it is "To love another person is to see the face of God."

6.     What excites you most about joining the staff & ministry team of HF?

Holy Family has a great staff, and I am looking forward to working with all of them as a team!  I'm excited to jump into the great ministries that are thriving and helping parishioners engage in mission as disciples.  I'm excited to work with our young people and adults as well.

7.     Any random facts you could share with us?

My favorite color is orange.  I love to be on the water.  Trying new foods is my idea of fun!
