Parishioner Evelyn Baumann Passes Away

Evelyn Rose Baumann, 102, passed away on January 20, 2026, at the Waters of Georgetown in Georgetown, Indiana. Evelyn was born on February 3, 1923, to the late Martin Libs and Caroline Zimmerman Libs. Evelyn retired from Floyd Memorial Hospital after being a loyal and caring nurse for 22 years. She was a devoted catholic and attended Holy Family Catholic Church, New Albany, Indiana. She was a proud member of Holy Family's quilting group. Evelyn also enjoyed working jigsaw puzzles, playing cards, making crafts including counted-cross stitch, and was an excellent seamstress.


Evelyn in preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband, Irvin "Bud" Baumann; her siblings, Irvin Libs, Raymond Libs, Bertha Eckert, Mary Morthorst, Dorothy Sprigler, Sister Dolorita Libs, and Anna Lee Gesenhues.

Evelyn is survived by several loving nieces and nephews; and many extended family and friends.


A funeral mass will be held at Holy Family Catholic Church, Daisy Lane, New Albany, Indiana, on Friday, January 30, 2026, at 11:00 am and Evelyn will be laid to rest at Saint Mary's of the Knobs, Floyds Knobs, Indiana.

Dr. Stuart E. Harlowe, of Floyds Knobs, Indiana, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 26, 2026, at the age of 98. Born in Lexington, Kentucky, on December 8, 1927, Stuart lived a life defined by faith, service, and devotion to family. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 56 years, Betty Harlowe; his sister, Catherine; and his parents, Stuart and Elizabeth Harlowe. Visitation will be from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Thursday, April 30, 2026 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). His Funeral Mass will be at 11:00 am on Friday, at Holy Family Catholic Church (129 W Daisy Lane, New Albany) with burial to follow at Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park in New Albany.  Memorial contributions in Stuart's memory can be to In Heaven's Eyes ministry at Holy Family Catholic Church.

Mary Catherine Busse, 98, passed away surrounded by her family in New Albany, Indiana, on April 6, 2026. Mary was born on October 13, 1927, in Floyd County, Indiana, to the late Floyd William Bott and Florence (Smith) Bott. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. A faithful member and one of the founding families of Holy Family Catholic Church, New Albany, Indiana. A visitation will be held at Kraft Funeral Service, 708 East Spring Street, New Albany, Indiana, on Monday, April 13, 2026, from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm and on Tuesday, April 14, 2026, from 9:00 am to 10:30 am.
