7th Sunday of Easter | The Ascension of the Lord

Christus Resurrexit, Sicut Dixit, Alleluia!!!

Christ has Risen, as He said He would, Alleluia!!!

This weekend we recall Jesus Christ – Risen from the Dead – now Risen to the Right Hand of the Father from whence He will come to judge the Living and the Dead. In the Ascension, Christ takes the resurrection to new heights! Not only has He conquered sin & death by His defeat upon the Cross, now He Rises to the Heaven from where His Reign and Rule will endure for all eternity. He who has shown how to live, now shows us where to live for all eternity, in Heaven, with the Father, surrounded by all the angels & saints. And just as Jesus wants, desires, plans for us to experience the Resurrection, He equally plans for us to be Assumed into Heaven when He calls our name – known to Him from all eternity.

During the recent Holy Family Catholic School Washington DC trip in April, four of our 8th graders placed the wreath shown in the picture at Arlington National Cemetery to honor the Unknown Soldiers, as well as all the fallen on behalf of our country. During this Memorial Day Weekend, we remember their sacrifice. We remember their lives. We entrust them to God who indeed knows them each by name. May they rest in peace.

Holy Family, loved by Mother Mary, Pray for us.
