Parish Office Reopening

The office will reopen with limited hours starting Monday, June 15. Office Hours will be Monday to Thursday from 8:30a – 12:30p. Office is open for important parish business only that cannot be accomplished via email or phone only. Parish Staff will rotate days, so call ahead to see if the person you need will be present. Masks are strongly recommended of all visitors or parishioners. Staff will continue to work from home as possible during other hours of the week. Please call or email if you need something and someone will get back to you as soon as possible.

Reopening Protocols Reminders

  • Mass and Confessions have returned to their regular schedule, which can be found on our website.
  • The church is open from 8:30-5 from Monday-Saturday for private prayer.
  • The restriction to attend every other weekend by Last Name has been removed. The 125-person limit in the main sanctuary is still in place to maintain social distancing.
  • Sanitizing spray is available by the east entrance. You are responsible for cleaning any pews you touch when coming to the church for private prayer. Mist lightly and let air dry.
  • Volunteers will sanitize pews, door handles, and other commonly touched surfaces after every Mass (including weekdays).
  • Though the obligation to attend Sunday Mass is lifted until at least August 15, we recommend attending Mass once per week if you are healthy. Weekday Masses typically have fewer people in attendance and may be a better option for some people. The flow chart below can help you decide when it is time to return to the church building.

Future Blue Boys Soccer

Boys in grade 6-8 are invited to "open play" with Providence High School's Future Blue team on Friday nights in July from 5-7pm. Youth will have an opportunity to meet the team's head coach, Brent Hesse, and enjoy a few games of soccer. Questions may be directed to Coach Stengel at (502) 558-7653 or jastengel325@gmail.com.

Providing Help and Creating Hope…During a Pandemic

In the face of COVID-19, St. Elizabeth Catholic Charities has made many adjustments for the safety of staff, volunteers, and all who are served through the agency’s programs. Our shelters have remained open and we have expanded some of our Emergency Shelter criteria on a case by case basis to safely offer housing for more women and children during the pandemic. We eliminated three months of rent payments for our Affordable Supportive Housing and Family Stability Programs and will continue to assist all residents with any food, household supplies, and PPE as needed. Case management and mental health services have also increased surrounding COVID-19. Our adoption program continued providing pregnancy support and child placements, implemented telehealth for critical adoption services, and hosted support groups via Zoom for birthmothers and prospective adoptive parents. Marie’s Community Distribution Program temporarily closed out of an abundance of caution, but recently hosted a curbside service day offering summer clothing, diapers and baby wipes for families in need. The agency is planning to reopen Marie’s beginning July 7th on a regular basis every Tuesday and Thursday from 10am-2pm at 305 E 7th Street in New Albany.

The support of your parish has helped make our work possible. Thank you for enabling St. Elizabeth Catholic Charities to alleviate some of the burdens placed on our community’s most vulnerable during these difficult circumstances. If you would like to support our work, visit www.stecharities.org/donate or mail contributions to St. Elizabeth Catholic Charities, 702 E Market Street, New Albany, IN 47150.
