Reopening Churches & Resuming Public Liturgies

Leadership of Holy Family is studying the guidance provided by the Archdiocese of Indianapolis regarding reopening the church and Masses to parishioners. Per Archbishop Thompson's permission, it is our hope to reopen the church for Private Prayer starting Wednesday, May 13 @ 8:30a. We hope to begin Masses with parishioners on Tuesday, May 19 @ 6p. Please note, there will be numerous new protocols for all activities. Fr. Gries plans to release those protocols with the Sunday, May 10 email notes & posts from the parish. Strict adherence to the protocols will be required by ALL parishioners. Lack of cooperation could slow the reopening.

Read the letter from Archbishop Thompson.

We will continue to share updates through this email, our Facebook page, and at holyfamilynewalbany.org/covid19.

Live Rosary - Fridays in May

Each Friday in May, we will be live streaming a Rosary on Facebook Live. May is a month that Catholics show their love and devotion to Mary in a particular way. The stream will begin at 6pm on the Holy Family Parish Facebook page.

Pope Francis is encouraging families to "rediscover the beauty of praying the Rosary at home in the month of May." He has provided two prayers to Our Lady that can be prayed at the end of the Rosary during this month. Read his letter and access the prayers here.

Virtual May Crowning

If you would like to watch the May Crowning ceremony from this morning, the video is available on Facebook and YouTube. There is also a video of the 8th-grade girl reading petitions, each connected to flowers that represent Mary's attributes, which can be watched here.
