Kathy Wilt

I was born in St. Edward’s Hospital and raised in Starlight, Indiana. I went to St. John’s School and Providence High School. I have a Certificate of Ministry from Spalding and have a Certificate from the Ecclesial Lay Ministry program from Notre Dame.

My experience in ministry is what led me to the Pastoral Associate Minister’s position here at Holy Family. At Starlight I was a volunteer Youth Moderator, CCD Catechist and Choir Director before I got married. I then married Darryl Wilt (life long parishioner of Holy Family) and we had three children, Jeremy, Chris and Shalon (who all three graduated from Holy Family and Providence). And now the proud grandmother of 5 grandchildren.

After Darryl and I were married we decided to make Holy Family our parish where I again volunteered as Youth Moderator, CFF preschool catechist and choir director. I was hired as a part time CFF Coordinator for high school and that evolved into full time DRE.

I am now the Pastoral Associate and my duties include: sacramental preparation for engaged couples through sponsor couples; plan and prepare funerals and wedding masses;  assist  and help organize and train Extraordinary Eucharistic Ministers for Hospital and Nursing Home ministry; plan and implement parish adult educational and spiritual programs including retreats and missions; and along with the rest of the staff, I am here to assist Father Dan in serving you in your sacramental needs.

I love working here because I love you, the parishioners of Holy Family. I try through my ministry to remind people that “God hugs me through you and He hugs you through me”.
