Dear Sisters and Brothers in Christ,
Jesus turned and said to Peter, “Get behind me, Satan! You are an obstacle to me. You are thinking not as God does, but as human beings do.” Mt 16:23
Peter learned that real love sometimes means letting someone you love experience pain, even death, for the sake of greater life. He realized this only after the resurrection. We must not judge him harshly. Neither should we look back with guilt on the times we hurt others because we “loved” them too much. Today we look forward, not back, and we ask the Father to give us a love that embraces the cross.
Please pray for me and all our priests.
