Take a look at the Spring Sports offered by the New Albany Deanery!
The Indiana State Police, with the assistance of Dr. Richard Hogue, Ed.D. of Hogue & Associates, Inc., has provided the training aids in this section to assist worshipers in preparing to respond to the unpredictable possibility of an active shooter event.
There will be a presentation at Holy Family on January 29th at 6:30 pm in the church. All of our ushers, liturgical ministers, and staff will be invited to attend. This will also be open to any parishioners, staff, liturgical ministers from any parish in the deanery as well.
On the Saturday morning before Thanksgiving the Saint Vincent DePaul Food Pantry will be almost emptied as we take food to 30+ families in Floyd County that are struggling to get by as winter and the Christmas Season approaches.
Thank goodness for the Boy Scouts!! As part of their Scouting for Food drive, they will bring many donations in but with such a short time period between Thanksgiving and Christmas the SVDP pantry could use some additional help.
If you attend the Thanksgiving Day Mass or the following weekend Masses please consider bringing in containers of cranberries, sweet potatoes or yams, chunky style soups, canned fruit, tuna, macaroni & cheese, spaghetti noodles and sauces, stuffing mixes, chili, baked beans, or pancake mix & syrup. Thanks for any help that you can provide!

Safe and Sacred is the name of the safe environment and child protection program of the Archdiocese of Indianapolis. The program builds awareness of how to recognize and report physical abuse, emotional abuse, neglect and child sexual abuse. All new clergy, staff, and volunteers must complete their Safe and Sacred program before they begin their employment/ministry. Once completed, you will need to renew your training every 5-years.
There are 3 areas of Safe and Sacred that all volunteers must complete:
- Safe and Sacred online training: https://safeandsacred-archindy.org
This program is designed to increase one’s awareness of and recognition of the signs of child physical abuse, child sexual abuse, child emotional abuse, and child neglect. It also provides information on reporting procedures and requirements.
- Background Check
This is required to screen known sex offenders from participating in ministries with children and to determine any potential risks or limitations for specific volunteer position
- Code of Conduct Form
