We have planned a parish Mission, “Finding God Wherever You Are” with Fr. John Graden as our preacher. It is a major spiritual event in the life of the parish and promises to be moving, intriguing, and a great opportunity for spiritual enrichment. Themes include Finding God in: prayer, life’s decisions and events, relation to others, and your own worshipping community. Everyone is definitely invited, encouraged, welcomed, and hoped for. Do yourself a favor and check it out on March 5-8.
A Description for Each Night:
Night 1: Finding God in Prayer
Asking the question, “Who is God for me?” The evening is spent considering how we find and encounter God in our daily life. What can we do to bring ourselves into the heart center of God’s love? How can we stay in touch with God’s presence?
Night 2: Finding God in Life’s Decisions and Events
We all struggle with the concept of God’s will; bad things happening to good people! During this evening, we will consider how we know what God really wants for us and how we deal with the happenings in our lives that challenge us.
Night 3: Finding God in Relation to Others
We do not live in isolation! We are part of the fabric of God’s creation, part of the Body of Christ. Any Christian spirituality must take our inter-related lives into account. How can we best be Christ for others and allow others to be Christ for us?
Night 4: Finding God in Worshipping Community
To “Live Jesus” we must learn to come together, to pray together in hope and joy. Eucharist comes alive for each of us in our worshipping community. It is here that God loves us and feeds us for our journey.
