Mary J. was born on March 25, 1913 to the late Edward and Annette (Bocard) Hettiger. She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Edward H. Grantz. She is survived by her three sons, Tony Grantz (husband to Carol Grantz), Joe Grantz (husband to the late Nancy Grantz) and John Grantz (husband to Llyn Grantz). Mary J., or “Nana”, was the treasured grandmother to nine grandchildren: Michael Grantz (Kim), Nan Davis (Bob), Angie Koopman (Steve), Kevin Grantz (Jeanette), Melissa Anderson (Monty), J.P. Grantz (Denise), Chuck Grantz (Connie), Dena McCurdy (Jamie) and David Grantz; nineteen great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild.
Harold E. Lohr, 90, of New Albany, Indiana died Tuesday, March 20, 2012 after a brief illness. He was born June 5, 1921 in Somerset County, Pennsylvania to Bruce and Rose Berkey Lohr and graduated from Thadeus Steven’s Trade School as an electrician. Harold served in World War II as an Electrician’s Mate, First Class in the US Navy.
Beside his parents, Harold was preceded in death by his wife of 43 years, Fay Anna Patrick Lohr; mother-in-law, Rose E. Patrick; brother, Merle Lohr; sisters, Leora Geisweidt, Alma Lohr, and Alta Deist.
He is survived by his daughter, Diane P. Lohr-Dohogne; son-in-law, Edward Dohogne; grandchildren, Patrick Dohogne and Clarissa Dohogne, all of New Albany; niece, Sandy Weaver; numerous other nieces and nephews in Pennsylvania.
Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Friday at Kraft Funeral Service, 2776 Charlestown Road, New Albany, Indiana. His funeral Mass will be 11:00 am Saturday at Holy Family Catholic Church with entombment to follow at Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park in New Albany, Indiana.
Anna Marie Schellenberger, 96
A funeral Mass for Anna Marie Hoehn Schellenberger, 96, of New Albany, will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Friday, March 9, at Holy Family Catholic Church, New Albany, with burial in St. Mary Lanesville Catholic Cemetery. She died Monday, March 5, 2012, in New Albany.
John Edward Egle, 84
A memorial Mass for John Edward Egle, 84, of New Albany, will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, March 10, at Holy Family Catholic Church in New Albany. He died Thursday, March 1, 2012. at home with his family by his side.
NEW ALBANY – Lipps, J. Paul, 80, died Thursday, February 2, 2012 at Floyd Memorial Hospital in New Albany.
Paul was born February 27, 1931 to the late John J. and Elsie Fenger Lipps in New Albany. He was retired as owner and partner of the Lipps National Printing Corporation in New Albany. He was an Army veteran and member of the Bonnie Sloan Post #28 American Legion. He was a Fourth Degree Knight at the Cardinal Ritter Council Knights of Columbus in New Albany and longtime member of Holy Family Catholic Church.

Glenn Edward Henry
NEW ALBANY – Henry, Glenn Edward, 88, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on January 12, 2012.
Glenn was born March 11, 1923 in Hardinsburg, IN to Charles and Lena Weathers Henry, who along with his four siblings preceded him in death. He served his nation honorably in the United States Navy during World War II on the U.S.S. Erickson and worked for Falls City Brewing Company, International Harvester and for a period of time taught diesel mechanics at Prosser Technical School. He was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in New Albany.
Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Alma Lenfert Henry; four children, Mark Henry (Brenda), Karen Johnson (Stewart), Philip Henry (Talara) and James Henry (Beth Ann); nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
The family requests expressions of sympathy be made to Hosparus of Southern Indiana.
